Snow & Hot Tubs

It started snowing yesterday. It fell down little by little all day. The hubs and I hid away in the house, away from the cold air.  We read the newspaper, played games, and sat and stared out at the falling snow.

By lunch, we decided it was about time to venture out.  We needed supplies.  Not the usual bread and milk that everyone picks up as soon as they see a trace of snow… instead we picked up ingredients for queso, sausage balls, fudge and Christmas cookies.

We spent hours in the kitchen making our creations. We sipped on cranberry juice and vodka while mixing and melting and such.

After my tummy was full of all the wonderfulness I could possibly dream of, I was staring out at my glistening backyard when my husband snuck up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist.  I couldn’t help but think “I don’t deserve this”.  I know that I am the luckiest girl in the world. My cup overflows.

We stood by the window for a long while, relishing in this perfect moment until the hubs received a phone call.  It was our neighbors inviting us to join them in their hot tub.  Our plans for that night had been cancelled, so we agreed to the invite. We stayed in the hot tub for three hours, telling stories, laughing, drinking and watching the snow. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
